School Talks, Workshops & Festivals

Are you after a speaker for Book Week, a Festival or Speaking Event?

My talks and workshops cover a number of areas from writing and illustration, creating comics, animation talks to story time and easy to follow drawing for K-6 and Year 7-8.

My talks are catered to all year levels from Primary to Senior, and my workshops can be created to suit specific needs or themes.

Does your school run an afterschool program?

For the past four years I have been running afterschool classes during the school term. These have been a huge success with regular students returning each term. I’ve witnessed friendships develop skills flourish and watched students overcome challenges in these term programs. This has enabled me to facilitate and guide each student depending on their creative needs in a small group of 10 -12 students. If you’d like me to visit your school or run my creative illustration term, please email me to discuss these workshops and classes with you.

You can contact me directly via email at  Serena.geddes@gmail.com

TESTIMONIALS

Serena worked closely with all our participants, giving them advice and guidance and taking extra time and care with the children who were struggling to make decisions or who’s artworks didn’t turn out quite as they imagine. Serena’s workshops were calm, fun and inspiring and we had lots of great feedback from parents and staff, but most importantly from the young people themselves. We look forward to working with her again in the future!

The session was an absolute success. Your patience, professionalism, and ability to connect with the kidsmade all the difference. The children were completely engaged, and it was heartwarming to see how muchthey enjoyed their time under your guidance. The feedback from both kids and their parents has been positive. In fact, the demand for your workshop was so high that we had 33 children on the waiting list! It’s atestament to your reputation and the value you bring to programs like these.Thank you once again for sharing your talents with us. We would love to collaborate with you again in thefuture.

Paris Paykar, Programs & Outreach Officer, Castle Hill Library

Serena’s workshop was engaging, it captured the students attention, and it was well structured. The kids were so engrossed in the activity that they continued working after her workshop end and went on to create some high quality work. The comic workshop linked well with the English and PDH curriculum as we looked at conveying healthy lifestyle messages. I really enjoyed it and so did the kids.
